How "no upload" works
This tool uses the Canvas API built into every modern browser. From the moment you pick a file to the moment you save the result, nothing is transmitted over the network — the whole pipeline runs on your own device. That makes it fast for large batches and safe for private or confidential images. Skeptical? Load the page, go offline, and it still works.
Choosing the settings
- Long edge: the longer side is scaled down to this size (images already smaller are left as they are). 1600px suits blogs and social posts; 1024px is plenty for email.
- Format: photos compress best as JPEG or WebP. Keep PNG or WebP if you need transparency — JPEG replaces transparent areas with white.
- Quality: applies to JPEG/WebP. 0.8–0.9 is the usual sweet spot.
- EXIF orientation from phone cameras is corrected automatically. Your original files are never modified.
